Potassium sparing dieuretic, mainly used as adjunct in the treatment of oedematous states due to congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome and idiopathic oedema.
Given as an areosol for bringing out respiratory secretions in cases of Cystic fibrosis. Mitigates diabetes insipidus induced by lithium.
