Adjuvant treatment of oestrogen-receptor positive
early invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal
women; adjuvant treatment of oestrogen receptor
positive early breast cancer in postmenopausal
women following 2-3 years of tamoxifen
therapy; advanced breast cancer.
Contra Indication
:
Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.;
moderate or severe hepatic disease; moderate or
severe renal impairment; not for premenopausal women.
Caution
:
Estrogens containing therapies should not be used with anastrozole as they may diminish its pharmacological action. Tamoxifen should not be co-administered with anastrozole.
Side Effect
:
Hot flushes, vaginal dryness, vaginal bleeding, hair thinning, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, arthralgia, bone fractures, rash (including stevens-johnson syndrome). Asthenia and drowsiness may initially affect ability to drive or operate machinery.
