Vaccination against Hepatitis-B Infection - Now a part of National Immunization Programme

Till now, Hepatitis-B vaccine is being given as a part of State Immunization Programme in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and West Bengal. Now the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has decided to include vacination aginst Hepatitis-B virus infection in the National Immunization Programme and the same would also be given free to every child all over India.
A child would get first injection at birth and then subsequent injections at 6, 10 and 14 weeks respectively along with DTP injections. |
